How to reduce fever with essential oils.
A fever is a body temperature of 100.4ºF (38ºC).
Mostly a fever isn’t a bad thing usually, it is a sign your body is fighting an infection.
An elevated temperature is a defense mechanism of the body to get rid of toxins.
Lowering the high temperature can be tempered by using cooling oils like eucalyptus, lavender, and peppermint.
You can make a blend of 18 drops Eucalyptus, 18 drops Lavender, 18 drops Rosemary, 18 drops Ginger and 18 drops Tea Tree.
Use 1 or blend 2/3 of the oils mentioned above to make a fever-reducing blend
- Take a hot bath for at least 15 minutes, run your bath as normal then simply sprinkle 6 to 8 drops of your homemade blend of essential oil into the bath. Swish the water around to disperse the oil. The warmth of the water helps the skin to absorb the molecules of the essential oil.
- Cut a piece of clean cotton sheeting to the required size. Prepare a bowl of water by adding a few drops essential oils. Soak the cotton in the water and oil. Wring out and apply gently to the forehead. It is a gentle way to get a fragile skin to absorb the essential oils.
- Vaporizers, you can purchase from chemists and health shops they are widely available. You fill in the vaporizer with water, place a few drops essential oils in the water. As the water starts to heat its molecules evaporate into the room filling with a wonderful aroma, to reduce the fever
Great results are achieved, mixing a few drops of your blend in a carrier oil, like sweet almond oil, or grape-seed oil. When the oil is completely dissolved into the oil, rub some of the mixtures on your chest. These tips are intended to reduce the symptoms, not to take over the role of your doctor. If the fever stays above 100.4ºF (38ºC) for longer than 3 days, consult your doctor.
